We don’t know who needs to hear this, but, yes, you can wear white after Labor Day. White blazers are a wardrobe staple and with so many winter-white denim trends, why are we still asking if it’s okay to wear the hue after Labor Day? Whether you opt for winter white, cream, or crisp nautical white, there’s no reason to pack away your whites once fall arrives.

In the early 1900s, not wearing white after Labor Day was a firm rule among the wealthy who regarded it as a symbol of refinement. This “rule” was started according to the vacationing schedule of the elite, when white was considered only proper for summer vacation attire. The rule was less about what was worn and more about who was wearing the clothing.

Does the Rule Still Apply?

Thankfully, this fashion rule has become outdated. It is safe to say that white can be worn at any time of the year. Today, we’ve pulled together 4 fashionable looks to showcase how to style white post-Labor Day and transition them into early fall. Take a look!

1. Warm Neutrals

Accent your whites with warm rich fall hues such as tobacco browns and camels. Animal prints are also fantastic layered with white and add another fun dimension to an otherwise very neutral palette. Neutrals and deep hues (e.g., black, navy, rust, even mustard yellow) work really well and balance out the summer-y look that white jeans can often bring to an outfit.

According to Gen Z TikTokers, middle parts and wide leg jeans are “in” and skinny jeans are officially O-V-E-R. While we think skinny jeans will truly never die, nor do we want them to (justice for skinny jeans!), wide leg jeans do have their advantages. Between their figure-flattering silhouette and relaxed fit, what’s not to love? Not to mention, the roomy denim makes transitioning from quarantine dressing even easier. We understand that wide leg jeans can be intimidating if you're not used to wearing them, so today we’re sharing a few tips and tricks on how to style the modern and exciting denim trend.

At Front Door Fashion we recognize that every customer has her own preferences when it comes to style, fit, design and fabrication. Some of our customers choose to wear only the four natural fabrics (cotton, linen [from the flax plant], wool, and silk) while others are more than fine with synthetics like rayon, modal, spandex, and nylon. When it comes to leather and suede we have faux and real options for our customers who choose one or the other, or both. The quality of faux leather has improved vastly in the last several years to the point that it is difficult sometimes to distinguish faux from real. Faux leather used to have a negative stigma until Stella McCartney popularized the term "vegan leather." Whether you share Stella's viewpoint as more of a conscious connoisseur, or you appreciate and prefer the quality of ethically sourced leather, we've got options for everyone. Scroll on to see two Los Angeles-based brands, My Tribe and ASTARS. Both offer gorgeous faux and real leather clothing that we are using to create one-of-a- kind outfits for our one-of-a-kind customers.
