Morgan’s Fall Look of the Week: Wine Time!

To me, fall means lots of football, outdoor fun and, of course, fabulous layers. I’m constantly on-the-go for Baylor football games (Sic ‘em!), wining and dining fireside with my family and heading to outdoor music festivals with friends. I’m a warm weather person, but I’m still obsessed with fall (mainly for the clothes).

Cool weather means I can break out my tall leather boots, felt hats and my favorite oxblood lipstick. Fall clothes are just more fun because you have textures and luscious layers to create rich looks with lots of depth, and you can really get creative when styling. There are so many mix & match options.

Flare jeans, burgundy hues (wines, marsalas, oxbloods…I could go on and on…), leather accents, and the camel/black color marriage are my trend crushes this season! I can’t get enough. I’m not a huge fan of the 70’s vibe for myself, but I will utilize hints of it and flare jeans are a great example of that. They’re just so flattering, especially on tall girls like me.

In my closet you’ll find pops of burgundy everywhere. I’ve got everything from burgundy jeans and blouses to hats and heels. I even throw on a little oxblood nail polish to match my lips. Style-wise, I’ve always incorporated a little edge into my look, so you will see me in leather for the rest of my life. I’m just stoked it’s extra on-trend this year. Pairing a classic shade of camel back to my favorite leather leggings will be a go-to look for me this fall.

Fall

This beautiful burgundy floppy hat inspired my Fall Look of the Week! I’m the floppy hat’s biggest fan because it’s an easy way to look pulled together quickly – especially when I’m running out the door in the morning! Throwing on a fabulous hat and a dynamite shade of lipstick is the easiest way to look put together with minimal effort.

And like I said, burgundy is the color of the season. I matched my lipstick to my hat, broke out the leather accents with this effortless BCBG swing dress & over the knee boots (so 70’s-inspired…See? I DO love hints of it!), and added a pop of print to break up the solid with my side-sling purse (a favorite of mine for football games) and Trina Turk necklace.

This outfit is perfect for an outdoor concert with friends and, I’m thinking, a glass of pinot would complement my outfit perfectly while sitting fireside…Wine Time!
