How to Dress the Quarantine 15

If you’re like me (and many of the clients I’ve styled recently), you’ve probably enjoyed your fair share of baked goods these past few months. There has been no shame in perfecting my banana bread game. If you can relate and have noticed a few extra pounds recently, you’re not alone! With the extra stress of the pandemic, gyms being closed, and restaurants emphasizing take out orders, the Quarantine 15 has become the norm for many of us. Staying stylish with the extra pounds can be challenging, and I’m here to help! It’s important to feel comfortable in what you wear every day. There are definitely ways to highlight your curves in a flattering way, as opposed to hiding them altogether. Here are my tips on how to dress the Quarantine 15:

How to Dress the Quarantine 15

3 Tips to Dress the Quarantine 15

Tip 1: Layers to Conceal

An a-line swing dress can be the perfect silhouette for a curvy figure. The v-neckline on this dress is flattering for my chest and the shape isn’t too clingy or long on my 5’2” frame! I layered the crisp white duster vest to hide my midsection and sides, and opted to tie it in the back rather than the front to avoid highlighting my tummy. When layering with a jacket or vest, accessorize with something like a dainty gold necklace to keep the focus around your face and collar bones.

Bootcut jeans to balance your curves

Tip 2: Bootcut Jeans for Balance

A bootcut jean is perfect to help balance your curves. The slight flare at the bottom will balance out wideness in the hips. Since I am short, I opted for a cropped bootcut jean because they hug my figure and lengthen my frame. I styled the cropped flares with an easy-to-wear boyfriend blazer over a simple white tee. The boyfriend blazer is long enough to cover my love handles and hide my tummy, and the color gives it a nice feminine touch!

Peplum tops and busy prints to distract from your midsection

Tip 3: Patterns & Peplum

Cargo pants are an on-trend staple right now. They are so versatile – perfect for lounging around the house, running errands, and they can also be dressed up with a heel when needed. The peplum top in the bold print is perfect for camouflaging the extra weight I gained in my midsection! I styled the statement earrings to make the look edgy and fun with minimal effort.
